Computing
At St Philip’s we believe that technology is an important part in the lives of children today. We develop firm foundations for using technology in the Early Years curriculum and build on this with work on Computing through Key Stages 1 and 2. Computing is taught through both discreet lessons on areas such as Internet Safety and Programming through using publishing tools to make cross curricular links with learning. Children have access to a laptop trolley which is available for each class alongside, class cameras, Kindles (in the EYFS classrooms) and interactive whiteboards. These all build into the children’s understanding of Computing and help to support their Knowledge and Skills. By working with these different elements the children will become digitally literate individuals with a solid foundation in which they can continue to develop their computing skills as they move into the next stage of their education.
